UiPath Platform for RPA

UiPath - RPA solution

UiPath delivers RPA – Robotic Process Automation functionality.

UiPath has a broad range of functionality that delivers solutions that can provide “Robotic Assistants” for people as well as complete “Robotic Workers”. These are often called “Attended” and “Un-Attended” bots.

The orchestration capabilities enables the “Robotic Workers” to be scaled to meet enterprise workload requirements for global organisations.

Ether Solutions uses the capabilities to assist organisations to gain the benefits from RPA whether it is for a single process or a major digital automation of a business operation.

Ether Solutions works with clients to identify suitable processes for RPA, create “Proof of Concept” and trial activities before building full robot solutions to implement the functionality.

A UiPath RPA solution can start small with a single robot working on isolated tasks, but the technology has architecture for an enterprise solution. The important factors such as security information can be stored in local Microsoft Credential vaults or integrated as part of an LDAP configuration using Microsoft Active Directory.

The extensive logging and analytics functionality provided with UiPath enable appropriate monitoring and audit facilities to be created. In larger implementations this often referred to as “Robotic Operations Control” (“ROC”) as it concerns the on-going robot activity.

In situations that a company adopts the use of software robots on a wide scale, there is often a need to co-ordinate the activity of different projects in order to leverage the benefits from such investments organisational structures are normally created called a “Centre of Excellence”. There can be variations on how these are achieved with Central, Distributed and Hybrid elements of the roles. In each case, the responsibilities will cover items such as standards, training, testing approaches, estimated, documentation, etc.

UiPath provide the “Community Edition” of its software robots which is free to use providing the business using the technology meets the licence criteria. This provides an effective option for SME organisations to obtain some benefits of automation and only have to pay for the consultancy required to configure the software robots for their particular usage. There is a minor administrative downside to the use of the “Community Edition” licence and that is the need to renew it each month, but this is a small burden in comparison to the payment of enterprise licence fees.

Why a Robot will be the Best Thing

This UiPath eBook explains the impact RPA Software Robots for Automation can deliver for people.

Getting Started with a UiPath RPA Solution.

To get started with an automation using a UiPath RPA solution, a candidate process needs to be identified. A design of the potential automation needs to consider the routine execution of the process as well as any exceptions or unusual requirements.

Ether Solutions 90 Day Automation Method can provide some detail for approaching the complete project covering People, Process and Technology.

The Method recognises that for a successful RPA Implementation it is more than just the technical aspects of the UiPath Architecture which need to be considered.
